PHASE W DAY 35
3 August 2023
Thursday
As my B.Ed. final year internship at St. Mary's High School continues, the 35th day brought with unexpected twists and turns. Despite the adjustments, it turned out to be a day of fruitful observations, engaging lessons, and fulfilling responsibilities. Let's delve into the details of this eventful day.
Preparing for Upcoming Lessons:
With the students having their unit tests in the afternoon, the school was relatively quiet. This presented an opportunity for me to plan and prepare for the topics I would be teaching in the upcoming days. I reviewed the curriculum, made lesson plans, and created activity cards to enhance student engagement during the classes.
Mid-Day Meals and Managing Line Duty
The sense of camaraderie among the faculty and students was evident as we came together to serve mid-day meals to the students. This daily ritual not only fosters a nurturing environment but also strengthens the bond between us, as we share in the responsibility of providing nourishment and care.
As the evening approached, I capably managed the line duty at the school's main gate. This task allows me to interact with the students and parents, fostering a sense of community within the school premise.
Despite not having any scheduled classes, I engaged in meaningful activities that contributed to my growth as an aspiring teacher. From preparing for future lessons to providing constructive feedback to my peers, each task enriched my teaching journey. I look forward to implementing the lessons learned on this day in my future classes and continuing to evolve as an effective and compassionate educator.
